Welcome to Tasman Home Educators (THE)

Tasman Home Educators (THE) is a network for people in the Nelson and Tasman area that are passionate, like yourself, to home school their children. When you start home schooling things can be daunting and it can seem hard to find your feet. THE can help you with this. THE is a group of individual home schooling families that each home school in their own unique way. As we stand THE is not an organisation with regular meetings or structure. This has been attempted in the past, but proved very hard to sustain. What THE can do for you is offer means to connect up with other home school families.

A lot of activities posted are regular activities that are offering special home school discounts. Some are very popular and that way this doubles up as excellent places to meet other families. There are a lot of activities which are organised by individual members especially for home ed. families, some are free and some of them cost money. There is also room for spontaneous and ad hoc activities.

To join up, click the person (membership) silhouette icon at the top left of the page. Join up (only put the details you wish to; but do include your suburb). We will approve your membership asap then you can access and contribute.

If you wish to, you can download the app to your mobile device, but this is not essential - everything can be accessed by webpage. If you have any problems, click on the 'mail' icon at the top left - contact us - this goes to the admin and we'll help asap.
